We begin the day and set out from Milwaukee to retrace the path of some of our immigrant ancestors that settled north of Milwaukee, in Fond du Lac County, during the mid-nineteenth century.

9:00 AM

Our tour begins with the Historic Wade House in Greenbush, WI. Located approximately half way between the cities of Sheboygan and Fond du Lac, this State Park features a stagecoach inn, buildings, and grounds maintained and operated as they were when first opened in 1848. This living history site allows visitors to glimpse into the past and experience what our ancestors encountered when they first arrived in what was then still considered the frontier of the United States.

The journey continues with a visit to the Patrick O’Laughlin Homestead in Dotyville, WI. Built in 1880, this brick home was a wedding gift for his bride Mary Jane, and considered one of the finest modern homes in the area when it was completed.

The tour concludes in St. Peter where brothers Donogh, Terence, Bryan Fergus, Peter, Andrew, and Charles O’Loghlin settled in 1849 and 1850. Our route to St. Peter will take us past the final resting places of a number of family members in St. Michael’s and St. Charles Cemeteries, and will include a stop at St. Peter’s Church which was built upon land donated by Bryan Fergus.

4:30 PM -10:00 PM
Irish Fest Parade

Up the Banner! This is our chance to show everyone at Irish Fest our Family Pride, and have some fun in the process. We will have flags for the kids and noise makers are highly encouraged. The parade will line up near the north entrance to the festival and process through the grounds, taking approximately 20-30 minutes depending on the pace.
